I’m realizing that it is impossible to hand out superlatives to every single wedding that I shoot! I walk away from each day thinking how amazing everything was, and my blog posts all end up with words like “amazing” and “wonderful”. Well, this wedding was no different. Great ceremony, fantastic party, and beautiful couple! I really do have a great job. Congrats to Karen and Jack–all the best to y’all!

Sarah and Vincent . Wedding Preview

Sarah and Vincent got married this past Saturday–the rain let up so that we could enjoy the day, and the heat didn’t get unbearable like we had feared. These two are great people. Sarah and Vincent were continually described as people who showed genuine care for those around them–I can totally attest to that. I have appreciated working with these two and just thought I would share a small preview! Enjoy.

iPhone photos from my trip

I am so excited to be about 8 hours from heading to the airport. I am so ready to be with my family again…three weeks is a long time! But one more post while I am away. Most everything I captured was with my DSLR, but I managed to pull out my iPhone every now and then. Here is a look at the trip from my iPhone lens. I tried to put them in the right order (Australia, Papua, Taiwan–and transit airports in between). I have pet kangaroos in the rain; seen a giant Jesus statue; chewed beetle nut; stayed at a hotel room where the main light switch was outside the door; ate amazing fruit, had a lot of noodles; watched incredible temple carvings being made; and drank a lot of tea!  …I may or may not have to stop and get a nice big burger on my way home from the airport!:)

Papua, Indonesia . Rice Planting

I have been out of the country for the past couple of weeks photographing stories in three different countries. I just thought I would show a few images from some time I spent with a family while they were working in their rice fields. I was holding my breath while wading through the rice field…working very hard to not get too bogged down in the mud and lose my balance! It was a great experience and I thought you might like to see a bit of what I have seen while I have been away. Enjoy.
