Thanks Robert, it was such a pleasure featuring your awesome photography!

Ayme and Court . Alexandria, LA

Ayme and Court had a beautiful wedding at the Melady House in Alexandria, Louisiana. A couple years ago I photographed one of Ayme’s best friends and she contacted me about being a part of their special day. I was even more excited to hear that it would be outdoors and at a plantation home! Ayme also wanted more use of textures in some of their images…something that love to do…so this wedding was just a fun experience from beginning to end. Enjoy a quick look at their special day, and thank you Ayme and Court. Blessings on your future together!

Chicagoland Wedding Photographer in Louisiana

So about a month ago (right before jetting off to Japan and China for two weeks) I had the privilege of shooting a wonderful wedding in Louisiana. Ayme was a stunning bride, and she put together a beautiful wedding day. But before we get to that post, let’s give the bride a little bit of the spotlight! We did a bridal session the day before the wedding at a spot that Ayme has been eyeing for a very long time. It was the perfect setting for the rustic feel that she wanted to show in her photos. Ayme found some amazing accessories on Etsy, and I will get all of that information from her for the wedding post. Until then…everyone meet Ayme!

LOVE this post! Looked like a super fun bride. Glad the trip went well!

Cotton Candy Styled Shoot

I branched out a little! It started with an idea, gained momentum by putting together a great team, and the images below prove that good things happened on a gloomy Saturday in April. This is the first styled shoot in the history of rojo foto//design, and I think I liked it! I mean, who doesn’t like cotton candy?! …and who can resist liking these amazing colors?! Well, I’ll post some photos and then add my commentary in between.

Setting up the table just added to the fun. First off, a huge thanks to my neighbor, Carol, who brought along some great ideas and dishes (not to mention her sewing the buntings and the carnival-like tent) to decorate the table. Carol is one of those people that will make everything she touches look amazing! I put together all of the cake stands with plates and candleholders from Goodwill, and then painted them these beautiful colors (a great DIY project for any event, or for your own cake plates at home). Also, meet my new word invention…invented for this shoot…the “cotton candy-labra”. It is simply cotton candy spun around a champagne flute so you get the fluffy cotton candy top, and the crystal stem.

Each of the vendors provided amazing products to add in beautiful details to the look of the shoot. Make sure and check out the vendor list at the end of this post!

Amazing! If these don’t induce spring fever, perhaps nothing can. Goodbye winter doldrums, hello SPRING! Great job Robert!

I came here on Carol’s recommendation, and I have to say– this is really lovely! I love the colors and home-made feel of everything.
